Our last few days
We have been to a few places in Ecuador in our
last few days.
Our last few days in Ecuador have been fun. Otto,
our main taxi driver this month, drove us to Quito from the Black Sheep Inn. We
stayed in Hotel Quito which a few people and lonely planet recommended to us.
Heidi and I had fun in the swimming pool there. In the evening Dad, Mum, Heidi
and I went to a restaurant called 'Hunters', it was a nice place but they only
spoke a tiny bit of English. To eat I had ribs - they were really yummy! After
we had stayed one night in Quito we went to Hacienda Cusin for two days.
Hacienda Cusin was really nice. Heidi and I saw lots of humming birds there.
They were really pretty! All of us had fun playing table tennis, pool and darts
in the game room there. The food was different from the food at the Black Sheep
Inn: it wasn't vegetarian. After our
stay at Hacienda Cusin Otto took us to Otavalo market. It was only about 20
minutes away from Hacienda Cusin. I bought a flute and a small, pretty,
colourful pencil case there which I really like. We also bought a mask and a
chess board with cool pieces on it as well.
On the way back from there we stopped
at a place called Quincha where we saw the church. Some people were walking from
Quito to Quincha which took eight to ten days!
When we got back we went to the Hotel Quito
to get our bags and then we went to the airport early, which was lucky because
our flight was an hour and a half earlier than what it had been, so we got there
just in time! Then we started our tiring journey to Chile, Santiago.
Heidi also finished knitting our
jumpers a couple of weeks ago; mine is tied around my waist in the
photograph.
